Graphic Foils

Crown offers cost-effective decorating solutions that adds value, prestige, and flair. Crown’s vast array of Metallic, Pigment, Satin and Holographic foils are widely used to create interest and focus to graphic arts products, plastics, packaging, and promotional materials.

Crown’s graphics foils are versatile for use on various materials and substrates. Some series accept a wide array of over-printing inks and varnishes. When combined with other stamping techniques using such as embossing or debossing, the visual impact of foiled materials is further enhanced.

Metallics

Metallic Foils offer the most reflective finish that cannot be achieved with other printing methods. Crown’s metallic foils include bright silvers and golds, satin silvers and golds, and a full range of metallic colors.

Product Series:

HH83 – General metallic graphics series, replacing our BW88 series. The HH83 is a stamper-friendly series compatible for use on wide format presses.
UD60 – Primarily available in silvers and golds, this is Crown’s lower-cost foil for general graphics applications.
UD89 – Excellent over-printing quality, compatible with most water-based inks and coatings, as well as UV-cured inks and varnishes.
JK83 – For foiling over most inks and other “hard to stamp” surfaces such as UV varnishes.

satin foils

Satin and Matt Foils are part of our metallic series, but does not have the usual bright metallic look. This series’ “muted” finish is favored for use on most high-end wine and liquor labels and packaging. Some colors mimic the dusted metal look providing a more luxurious effect on packaging. Matt foils are an excellent choice for fine-detail foiling. This series is available in silvers and golds, as well as a wide array of metallic colors. We have Satin and Matt foils that will work well on narrow-web label printers, as well as on large format presses such as the Bobst or Gietz presses.

pigments

Crown’s Pigment Foils are available in both gloss and matte finishes. Using stamping foils offers an economic way to apply a higher pigment load onto substrates which results in more vivid colors and opacity that is difficult to achieve with traditional printing. Stamping also offers a simpler, clean process that eliminate the use of chemicals often related with printing, eliminating worries related to health and environmental issues.

Product Series:

GEA / YEA – For plastics applications. The GEA series is widely used on HDPE bins and crates.
YED – Gloss pigment series, for fine to medium coverage, for most paper substrates, as well as printable PP and PE label stocks.
LFQ – Matte pigment series, for fine to medium coverage, for most paper substrates.
PFU – Matte pigment series, for medium to large coverage. Excellent for panel stamping.
SEA – code dating foil; used for imprinting information and other variable data such as dates and batch numbers on consumer packaging.

Holographic Gratings

Crown’s Pixel-Grafx™ and Retail-Vision™ holographic foils are widely used to create eye-catching designs for packaging materials. These foils are also used on greeting cards, book covers, and a whole host of point-of-purchase applications. Our holographic foils are used to decorate toys, fishing lures, even fashion accessories, shoes, and garments.

With capabilities of embossing from 12” to 50” wide, Crown can meet the most demanding custom hologram application to high-volume mass market consumer product requirements. No matter what you decorate, Crown offers in-house art and production consultation. We can take you from concept to finished foil product in a matter of weeks.

Crown’s holographic film laminates are extensively used for core stock application, used in the manufacture of specialty, high-value trading cards and gift cards.
